As a member of the Littler CaseSmart – Charges™ team and based in Nebraska, Jamie Hurst is responsible for handling charges from investigation to conclusion. She works on client-dedicated service teams, focusing on handling administrative agency charges. She investigates charge allegations, reviews pertinent documents, interviews key witnesses, and provides clients an assessment of the risks associated with the charge. In partnership with the client, she defends the charge by drafting persuasive position statements and responses to the agency’s requests for information.
Jamie is a seasoned employment law attorney with experience representing employers and employees in complex litigation. She is proficient in counseling employers and human resources departments with policy development, training, internal investigations, discrimination, FMLA, wage and hour, and benefit plans. She has a proven ability to determine and implement effective employment strategies and maintain high level relationships with clients and counsel.
Prior to joining Littler, Jamie was undefeated in securing “no reasonable cause” findings for the employer in discrimination complaints filed with local, state, and federal EEOC. She has appeared before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, National Labor Relations Board, and federal and state district courts relating to employment litigation.
Jamie has been touted for providing concise and realistic counseling, training, compliance, and guidance to employers in a prompt and professional manner with skilled crisis management precision. She has created an intimate understanding of the employer and the employee perspective for strategic issue spotting, litigation tactics, legal theories, and risk exposure.
